Upgrading to Synergy/DE 9: What to expect
As illustrated throughout the earlier conference sessions, there are many benefits of migrating to Synergy/DE version 9. Because v9 has a better, stricter compiler, it may find issues that you will need to resolve in your code. During this session, we will cover what you can expect during your migration and how to ensure the smoothest migration possible.

Customer demo: A Fortune 1000 company uses the latest Synergy/DE features to connect its OpenVMS-based system to the outside world
Last year, you saw how a developer at Jackson Lumber singlehandedly transformed their traditional Synergy/DE cell-based application to Windows with an Outlook 2007 look and feel. This year, United Natural Foods (NASDAQ: UNFI), the largest publicly traded wholesale distributor to the natural and organic foods industry, will demonstrate how they are using the latest Synergy/DE features to solve business problems in a distributed computing environment. Specifically they will highlight how they integrated their OpenVMS system with Workbench, Web services, and SQL Connection, and how they are making use of Synergy objects to solve business problems.

Synergex recently introduced the Licensing Toolkit, which enables you to add license enforcement functionliaty to your applications. (For example, you can allow a maximum number of concurrent users, secure specific components, etc.) It can be used with Synergy applications and non-Synergy applications. In this session, we will provide an overview of the toolkit and show how we take advantage of its features in the ChronoTrack application.

Does your development environment enable you to optimize your productivity? Using Workbench and Configuration Builder you can automate processing, such as creating build scripts that can be used in Windows and even exported outside a pure Windows environment. During this session, we’ll explore the development environment used to develop and build the ChronoTrack application to give you ideas on how to optimize your development process, thereby increasing productivity.

2:00 - 2:45

The future of Synergy/DE: information you need to plan your product roadmap
We’ll share our plans for future Synergy/DE features and technologies so you can determine how to incorporate these plans into your product roadmap.
